Hi, I’m Clarinda.

​I’m a relationship therapist specializing in couples therapy, working with clients in Lisbon, Toronto, and online. For almost two decades, I’ve supported individuals and couples in navigating conflict, rebuilding trust, and understanding the deeper patterns that shape their relationships.

 

Because most couples aren’t struggling due to a lack of love - they’re struggling with how to communicate, how to feel seen, and how to stay connected when things get hard.

 

And that’s where the work begins.

What I Help With

Couples and individuals often come to me feeling stuck, disconnected, or caught in patterns they don’t fully understand.

 

Together, we work through:

 

  • Communication breakdown and recurring arguments

  • Emotional disconnection and distance

  • Infidelity and rebuilding trust

  • Attachment patterns (anxious, avoidant dynamics)

  • Anxiety and overwhelm within relationships

  • Life transitions (parenthood, relocation, identity shifts)

This work is not about “fixing” one person.

It’s about understanding the dynamic and learning how to shift it, together.

My Approach

My approach is relational, attachment-focused, and grounded in real-life dynamics.

 

That means we don’t just talk about what’s happening - we explore why it’s happening, how your nervous system responds, and what each partner needs underneath the surface.

 

I integrate elements from:

 

  • Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)

  • Internal Family Systems (IFS)

  • Relational Psychotherapy

  • Trauma-informed approaches

 

But more than anything, I bring a space where you can feel understood, challenged, and supported—all at once.
